Museum of the Berkeley Springs
In 1984, local citizens established the Museum of the Berkeley Springs. on the second floor of the Roman Bath House. Exhibits in the Museum include geology of the springs, Native American artifacts, James Rumsey, historic bathing wear, Tomato Festival, Berkeley Springs Hotels of the Past, George Washington, Porte Crayon sketches and others. The museum is free to the public and open at least on weekends from March through December. Previous uses of the second floor of the Roman Bath House included a Reading Room in the 1830s and doctor’s office in the 1890s. 20th century uses were as the American Legion, Band Room and Senior Center.
